LANDMARK IS…
A PLACE TO CALL HOME! Landmark is a welcoming, friendly, and safe place. A place where you will be loved and accepted, regardless of your life experiences or your life’s journey, you can find Landmark “A Place to Call Home.”
WHERE EVERYONE IS WELCOME Raised in church, new to church, familiar with God, just learning about God, or maybe not so sure about God… You are welcome here! Landmark is made of people who are going through life just like you. Although we may be in different spots in that journey, we can identify with the fact that we want God in the mix. You are welcome here!
NOBODY’S PERFECT You will not find perfect people at Landmark! You will find normal people. People who fail, who have struggles, who battle addictions and temptations, people who are far from perfect. But, what you will find is “Us!” You’ll find people who are forgiven and thankful for God’s grace and compassion towards us. You will find people who are committed to each other in life’s journey; and you’ll find our sincere desire to love others as God loves us, imperfections and all!
AND ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE At Landmark we believe that with God.. Anything is possible! We believe that God has a plan for everything and that God is in control. We believe in the ordinary and the extraordinary. The normal and the miraculous. We believe that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You’ll hear us talk about these things because we believe them to be true. God is pretty amazing and we love to celebrate that! In all we do, we will do our best to communicate this message: With God.. Anything is possible!
We are an ALL-Inclusive Community that loves to laugh, deepen our relationship with God, and care for others. No matter who you are or where you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome here!
Cherry Grove Friends Church is a Christ-centered Friends (or Quaker) church. We belong to a group called the Northwest Yearly Meeting which is a collection of other similar Friends churches in the Pacific Northwest.
As summarized by the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends, we hold the following values:
- Jesus Christ is present. He is actively and immediately accessible to all who believe in Him.
- Scripture calls us to account and helps us know God’s will. The Bible, as interpreted by the Holy Spirit, gives us spiritual guidance for our daily lives.
- God is the source of life, and all human life is sacred. We treat others with respect and dignity, regardless of human measures of merit or value, because all life has its origin in the creative work of God.
- The Holy Spirit transforms and empowers us. As we yield our lives to God and become immersed in the life of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit enlightens our paths and transforms our lives.
- We are called to be and to make followers of Christ. We listen to Christ, living our lives with integrity and righteousness, and work to bring others into a relationship with Him.
- We are called to live out Christ’s love. We strive to display the fullest measure of God’s love to those around us.
- We are called to be agents of God’s peace and love to everyone. We are called to work for justice and to be agents of the same healing and love we have received from God.
As Friends, we also emphasize:
- an inward encounter with God
- relationship-based worship, not ritual-based worship
- an individual responsibility for ministry and service
Who We Are
Abundant Life Church is a community of regular people living out God’s extraordinary story the way Jesus showed us.
Our Why
To see the fame and deeds of God renewed in our time.
Our Pursuits
The Presence of God
We pursue the tangible and personal presence of God, individually and together, through a culture of prayer and worship rooted in God’s Word.
The Formation of People
We pursue deep change through transformational discipleship drawn from the example of Jesus so that we become whole, healed, and flourish in a secure, God-given identity.
Jesus-Centered Community
We pursue belonging to and participating in a loving, formative, and diverse covenant community unified around Jesus.
Neighborhoods to Nations
We pursue joining God’s restorative work, locally and globally, by generously using all that God has given us for His glory and the good of others so that people might be saved and live out God’s Story.
We base everything we believe on Jesus instructions to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. And to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
Everything. Literally, everything else hinges on these instructions. See Matthew 22:35-40, Mark 12:28-31, Luke 10:25-28, also John 13:24.
We are also proud of our over 100-year affiliation with and support of the Church of the Nazarene. We are a holiness denomination that traces our heritage to John Wesley and the Methodist movement.
The mission of the global Church of the Nazarene is to make Christlike disciples in the nations. Therefore we look to the Great Commission for guidance. (Matthew 28:19-20). As a global community of faith, we are commissioned to take the Good News of life in Jesus Christ to people everywhere and spread the message of holiness (Christlike living).
The Church of the Nazarene unites individuals who have made Jesus Christ Lord of their lives, sharing in Christian fellowship, and seeking to strengthen each other in faith development through worship, preaching, training, and service to others.
We strive to express the compassion of Jesus Christ to all persons. We are called to glorify God, and we also are called to actively participate in His mission—reconciling the world to himself.
Members of the Church of the Nazarene are a sent people—into homes, work places, communities, and villages as well as other cities and countries. God continues calling ordinary people to do extraordinary things made possible by the power of the Holy Spirit.
